Common Questions
1 What temperatures should I expect for winter operation?
OLMO heat pumps are designed to deliver reliable heating performance across a wide range of outdoor temperatures. In very cold weather, the system may enter defrost mode periodically to remove ice from the outdoor unit. This is normal and helps maintain efficiency.
2 My indoor display shows “dF.” Is something wrong?
“dF” usually means the system is in defrost mode. The unit is temporarily clearing frost from the outdoor coil and should return to normal operation automatically.
3 How do I register my product for warranty?
Register your system within 60 days of professional installation. Keep your proof of purchase, model number, serial number, installation date, and installer information for warranty records.
4 Can I install a mini split myself?
Professional installation is recommended. Proper electrical, refrigerant, vacuum, and torque procedures are required for safe operation and warranty eligibility.
5 What’s covered under the limited warranty?
Coverage can vary by model and installation details. Compressor and parts coverage may require timely registration and proof of installation by a licensed HVAC technician.
6 Do cosmetic blemishes qualify for a return?
Minor cosmetic blemishes that do not affect operation may not qualify for return. Shipping damage should be documented with photos and noted before signing the delivery receipt.
7 Where can I find manuals and troubleshooting help?
Manuals, wiring diagrams, troubleshooting information, and support resources can be found through OLMO support resources. Have your model and serial number ready when requesting help.
8 What is a mini-split system?
A mini-split is a ductless heating and cooling system with an outdoor condenser and one or more indoor air handlers. It is commonly used where ductwork is not available or where room-by-room comfort is preferred.
