Accumulator
An Accumulator is a safety component located near the compressor that prevents liquid refrigerant from entering the compressor's suction port. Since compressors are designed to compress gas, not liquid, any "slugging" of liquid can cause immediate mechanical failure. In our Alpic Eco systems, the accumulator acts as a reservoir to catch excess liquid and allow it to evaporate safely. This part is critical for the long-term "Reliability" of your Multi-Zone outdoor unit. It is especially important during low-temperature heating cycles where refrigerant behavior can be unpredictable. You can find replacement accumulators and other internal Components in our specialized parts catalog. Proper sizing of the accumulator ensures that the Refrigerant Charge remains balanced across all operating conditions. It is an "invisible" but vital protector of your system's heart. Without a functioning accumulator, your Compressor Warranty would be at much higher risk of being utilized.
