The Condensate Drain Pan is a shallow tray located beneath the evaporator coil that catches the water as it drips off the cold fins. From here, the water is funneled into the Drain Line and carried outside. In our Wall Mount R454B units, the pan is designed with a specific pitch to prevent stagnant water and "bio-sludge" buildup. If the pan becomes clogged or cracked, it can lead to water damage in your home. This is why we recommend checking the pan during seasonal maintenance of your Single-Zone system. Some of our larger Multi-Zone heads include a built-in safety float switch that shuts down the AC if the pan overflows. We offer replacement pans and related Accessories for all our models.
