Flaring Tool

A Flaring Tool is a manual or powered device used by HVAC technicians to shape the end of a copper refrigerant pipe into a 45-degree funnel shape. This "flare" allows the pipe to sit perfectly against the system's fittings before being secured by a Flare Nut. A high-quality flare is the difference between a system that lasts 15 years and one that leaks within a week. When setting up a Multi-Zone system, several flares must be made with absolute precision. This tool is a staple in the kit of any HVAC Contractor working on OLMO equipment. If you are using our Armbridge Pre-Flared Line Sets, the need for this tool is minimized, but it is still essential for custom-length runs. The flaring process must be done carefully to avoid "burrs" or uneven edges that could compromise the seal. It is a technical skill that ensures the high-pressure refrigerant stays where it belongs. Proper flaring is one of the most important steps in ensuring your Single-Zone system remains leak-free.
